I have the honour to refer to my despatch No.162 dated 28th February, 1938, regarding the Kai Tak Aerodrome and to inform you that, in view of the rapidly increasing use being made of the aerodrome at Kai Tak in this Colony
I and the prospect of further growth in the near future, have appointed a committee to inquire into what steps if any should now be taken to meet the needs of the future. The following persons will serve on this committee:
The Director of Air Services (Chairman),

Group Captain A. H. Peck, D.S.O., H.C., of the
Royal Air Force,
The Director of Public Works or some senior
officer deputed by him,
Wing Commander A.D.S.Murray, Imperial Airways,
George Tinson, Esq., Director and Chairman of the
Far East Aviation Company, Limited, and of the Far East Flying Training School, Limited.
The terms of reference to the committee are: (1) To inquire into the adequacy of the aerodrome and its equipment, having regard to such extension of its use as Lay reasonably be
expected in the near future, and
(ii)
to advise upon what steps, if any, should now be taken by Government for its extension or
alteration.
